The Essentials Of A Cottage Home

When we think of Cottage Homes, what, exactly do we think of? A small to medium-sized house in the country. Green, grassy pastures encircled by a white picket fence. Trees on the outside, warmth on the inside, perhaps with a garden in the back running alongside a deck. Shutters, shingles and and sidewalks — Cottage Homes remind us of a warm place where family and friends are always welcome.

Cottage homes date back as far as the Middle Ages, when they were the dwelling of a cotter.This/tag helps explain it more. As peasants, cotters generally farmed their own small parcels of land and live in their modest homes. It wasn’t until centuries later, when North Americans began building smaller homes in the country to vacation from their larger (and much busier) homes in the cities. It was this birth of development that began making cottage homes quite popular. Whether located high in the mountains or in a low-lying valley near a lake, cottage homes provide a way of life unsurpassed by their rural counterparts.

Today people of all kinds are looking for their great escape to a simpler and fuller way of life. Cottage homes provide a sense of respite and relaxation; a break away from the hectic world and a lifestyle that resonates warmth and relaxation.
