EMPOWER Transitional Housing
Recognizing that youth exiting the foster care system are not always ready at the age of 18, A & A Cottages developed a program for youth who are aging out of the foster care system with little support to guide them. The EMPOWER house provides young woman ages 18-21 with the opportunity to complete their educations, obtain employment and develop positive support systems before facing the world on their own. It is A & A Cottages intent to empower these young people into breaking the cycle of poverty and violence in their lives.

Attached to this website is an application for the EMPOWER Transitional House.

The Empower Program is a comprehensive success development program for young women ages 18
- 21. Through our Family Foundations & Angela programs, we offer services both in the community and in our residential accommodations to support and train young women so that they are empowered to build successful lives for themselves. These programs give our young women access to a network of opportunities through which they acquire valuable skills, build positive lasting relationships, & benefit from ongoing support. They can complete their education and obtain employment where they will earn enough money to live on and to save for the future. They get guidance in areas such as building a good credit history, and support in navigating the medical, legal, and social issues with which they might be struggling.
Working with our case managers, these young women will create short
-term and long-term goals, identify any obstacles to these goals and establish a plan to achieve success in each area. Our staff will help the women connect to the resources they need and offer support and structure as they build their lives to successful independence.Benefits
